1961 |
Prior to the 1961 season, there had not been a significant graphic innovation on a baseball cap since 1908, when the St. Louis Browns introduced a two-toned visor, a style that lasted just three seasons. But just a few weeks into the 1961 season, the Los Angeles Angels adopted a silver halo atop their cap, a novel and clever addition to their baseball uniform. The Angels’ halo cap lasted through the 1970 season, after which the design element was removed from the top of the cap and a small halo was incorporated into the team’s logo. |
