1938

Brooklyn Dodgers first baseman Dolph Camilli, 1938

Following a one-year experiment with green-trimmed uniforms (yes, green), the Brooklyn Dodgers overhauled their look for the 1938 season. The club adopted a scripted-version of the team nickname “Dodgers” across the shirt front, underlined by a sweeping curve. The lettering, trim, undershirt, cap, and stockings were all colored with what is now known as “Dodger Blue.” With only minor changes, the uniform has remained the same since the 1938 season.
