made history on June 28, 2007, becoming the 27th member of the 3,000 Hit Club. The longtime Astros star reached the milestone on a night in which collected a total of five hits against the visiting Colorado Rockies. After singling in the third and fifth innings, Biggio notched hit #3,000 with a single in the seventh, but was thrown out at second trying to stretch it into a double. It marked the first time that a player reached the coveted mark of 3,000 hits on a play in which he was retired.
