About ¡Viva Baseball!This website was adapted from ¡Viva Baseball! at the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, N.Y. The exhibit, which has been open since the spring of 2009, was created by a team of museum staff and these authors/advisers: Adrian Burgos, Jr. (Playing America's Game: Baseball, Latinos and the Color Line); Milton H. Jamail (Venezuelan Bust, Baseball Boom: Andres Reiner and Scouting on the New Frontier, and Full Count: Inside Cuban Baseball); Alan M. Klein (Growing the Game: The Globalization of Major League Baseball, Sugarball: The American Game, the Dominican Dream, and Baseball on the Border); Rob Ruck (The Tropic of Baseball: Baseball in the Dominican Republic, The Republic of Baseball: Dominican Giants of the American Game and Raceball: How the Major Leagues Colonized the Black and Latin Game); and Tim Wendel (Far From Home: Latino Baseball Players in America, and The New Face of Baseball: The One-Hundred-Year Rise and Triumph of Latinos in America's Favorite Sport). All information in this online exhibit and the museum exhibit is presented in both Spanish and English.
