Stan Musial (with hands on stomach, second from left
in second row from bottom) served his country in several
ways. In 1943, he traveled with a USO-sponsored tour of Alaska and the
Aleutian Islands. In 1945, he joined the Navy and played for the
Bainbridge Naval Training Station.
