On June 26, 1944, the Giants, Yankees, and Dodgers staged a special Tri-Cornered Baseball Game at the Polo Grounds in New York City. The three clubs competed against one another in a bizarre single-game format with each team either in the field, at bat, or sitting out an inning. Thus, each team batted and fielded three times against each opponent. The result was a Dodgers-Yankees-Giants final of 5-1-0.
