A MESSAGE FROM THE CAPTAIN

In welcoming you to the opening of another baseball season, I remind you that this team belongs to all of you as a service team as much as it belongs to the officers and men connected with it in official capacities. You, as they, share in its victories and its defeats. Nothing typifies the American spirit more than a baseball game and the crowds attending these games. The continuation of games like this of today is point-blank proof to our enemies that they cannot succeed in overhauling our way of life. Play ball!
